Playing drums on Android? You must be mad. No, I’m not kidding, you can play drums on Android. There’s even a very stiff competition when it comes to drum apps in the Play Store. Today guided by sheer boredom and exorbitant amount of free time (that I usually don’t have) I typed in “drums” in the search box at the Play Store and decided to write about one very cool drum app for Android called Real Drum. Here are my findings about this app, what are its good sides, bad sides, advantages and so on.
Have fun with Real Drum on Android – free drums app
Real Drum is a very small, but at the same time is’t also feature packed drum app for Android where the drum set is customizable, up to a point. When you run the app, the very first thing that you’re gonna see is the full drum set, the one that can be seen on the image down below.

So what kind of drums are available in the drum set? You get floor drums, kick drums, snares, crash drums, toms, splash drums, china drums, ride drums, close HH and open HH. That’s the default setup that you get, but notice the menu in the top left corner of the screen? Tapping on options there will open up additional settings where the drum set can be customized additionally.
Tap on the drum icon in the top left corner and you’ll see the drum set editor. Here the small crash drums, second crash drums and additional accessory drums can be changed from the main drum set. At the bottom of the drum set you can see that the default set has been changed. Kick drum has been removed for tambourine, and the crash drum was changed for an additional china drum.

Now we get to the more interesting features of this app. Tapping on the Play icon from the top left corner menu will open up a small pop-up window which can be seen on the image above. This drum app for Android has lessons which you can use to teach yourself how to play basic rhythms. It also has loops that you can use for background when playing the drums. Songs from your music library can be used for the same thing (they can be used as background for your drumming) if you tap on the “SONGS” tab.
The “RECORDS” tab is for the drumming session recordings that you made by tapping on the red record button from the same top left corner menu. You can’t see it but I’m actually recording the drumming session on the image above.
Conclusions and Download
What is there to say, this is a really great drum app for Android with a lot of interesting features packed in a very small app, it’s just a couple of MB big. It won’t take up a lot of space, but it will provide you with a lot of fun. I’m not saying that this can be used as real drums, but Real Drum is great to get you started with drumming. Make sure to checkout the “LESSONS” tab to find lessons on how to maintain drum beats and rhythm.
