There has been an update to this article, Faya now has additional effects. Check it out here:
I haven’t talked about Windows apps in quite some time, so it makes sense to do that today. A very hot application will put an end to my Windows apps dry spell and that application is called Faya. You probably haven’t heard about Faya because it’s a relatively new app, but despite of it being new it’s still a very interesting app that adds a fire effect to your Windows desktop. All versions of Windows are supported so if you ever wanted to have a relaxing Windows desktop fireplace effect to gaze upon during your daily activities, I suggested that you give Faya a try.
You can see the fire effect that we talked about in action on the image above. Only a fragment of my desktop is showed though. The effect actually spans across the entire width of the desktop. This little app is portable, which means that there’s no need for installation. Tray icon is also added from where you can open up the settings panel by doing a double left click.
Inside the settings you can setup this free desktop fireplace effect so that it’s activated automatically with Windows, and also customize the effect itself. Opacity and the number of flames can be customized. I suggest that if you want to see the effect on a bright background that you bring down the opacity from the default 50% because otherwise you’ll have a hard time seeing the effect. Use the Number of flames setting to customize the amount of flames that’s showed. This is useful if you for example don’t want the effect to occupy a better part of your screen.
Faya is very simple, that’s pretty much all there is to it really. If you want to have a desktop fire effect on your Windows powered machine, up until now this is the easiest and safest way of how you can do that that I’ve come across. Application is portable, there’s no installation, no ads, spyware, adware, Avast hasn’t detected anything suspicious when running the application. All in all, it’s an app worthy of giving it a shot if you’re into fire and fire effects. Download it by following the link down below and let me know what you think about it in the comments.
